Okay, if you are more astute than me, maybe you already know this. But if you missed it like I did the first time (and truthfully still struggle to remember even after three years of registration days), you need to know that REGISTRATION DAY IS SCHOOL PICTURE DAY.
Yes, school pictures as in the one that will be in the yearbook in June (and the one you are going to send to grandma). While the registration literature refers to the registration process as including taking ID Pictures (which gets printed out and place on the student ID card the day of registration), that first year I wasn’t totally clear on the fact registration day also is the school’s official picture day. I did notice today that there is some information on the web site and a mention of it in the New Student Information Bulletin that is available for download on the web site. But I was looking for it! Otherwise, it seems to me that this is something that could easily be missed.
So even though it’s summertime, if you and/or your student are concerned about such things, you may want to spend some time considering what to wear and doing their hair.
You can read all the details about Picture Day here. It’s worth noting that OCSA prefers that you order and pay for your pictures PRIOR to registration day; but you may order and pay Lifetouch at the Student ID Picture Station on the day of your scheduled registration appointment.

New students don’t have id #s yet so I don’t think we can pre-order photos

Hummm, I hadn’t considered that: From what I read, I didn’t get that a student ID was necessary, just the Picture Day ID. According to the OCSA web site here’s what you need to do:
Download & print the Lifetouch Photo Pricing & Packages flyer
After Wed., Aug 1, 2012, go to http://www.mylifetouch.com/
Enter PICTURE DAY ID RO272628Y0, then select “Submit”.
Make your picture package selection(s)
Pay with major credit/debit card
Did you try it and find that the student ID was required? If so, let us know!
